Partner organizations of Tamjdem
We would like to present here all the organizations where Tamjdem volunteers have helped since 2007.
More than 60 Tamjdem projects have already taken place in more than 30 Czech NGOs focusing on many different topics – ecological farm, community center for handicapped, alternative theatre, buddhism and yoga, repairing old castles and leisure time activities with children.

NGOs working with people with handicaps
Civic association Ryzáček in Vyšehorky (region of Šumperk) was founded in 2006. It organises different activities. Clients can discover the world of horses thank to them. But Ryzáček is mostly focused on hipotherapy of physically handicapped children as well as adults. Hipotherapy is a special kind of rehabilitation by riding a horse in a particular way.
Public service company ALKA patronizes parents of children with multiple handicapes in Příbram and its region. ALKA provides social, health and educational services for the parents of these children as well as the clients as such. There are various therapies among its services including hipotherapy.
Camphill in České Kopisty is the first of its kind in the Czech republic which focuses its work on involving mentally handicapped people in ecofarms. Civic association Camphill is part of the worldwide movement and is known as a community center. The aim is to provide services of medical-educational centre and involve these people in work in agriculture in a beautiful landscape nearby Labe river.
The civic association Benediktus in Chotěboř was inspired for its foundation by an international web of communities L´Arch. Benediktus is a community house where people with handicapes live, work and have fun together with people without handicaps. It provides social services and involves the clients in various handcrafts. Moreover with these regural activities they refresh the cultural tradition in Vysočina region.
Villa Vallila is a community house built up near Benešov for people who need to find their own way of living, to start right. Nowadays there are 8 people there – mostly young clients who had some difficulties after they left orphanage institutions. The clients have handicaps or suffer from social exclusion. They have a farm there and therefore plant herbs and vegetables, take care of sheep and goats.
Foreigners in Czech republic
Nesehnutí is an acronym for Independent social-ecological movement. It is dedicated to wide topics which are connected one to each other. Campaigns are focused on increasing number of hypermarkets, trade with guns, women rights, situation of refugees in CZ, protection of nature or the rights of animal.
InBáze Berkat is a civic association in Prague. It helps to migrants in CZ in their difficult life situations and also creates a common area where the people can share their ideas and way of thinking. It organizes projects for children and adults and besides that it runs famous ethnocatering. Lately they started running a community multicultural centre in Rakovice castle, 60 km south of Prague.
Alternative culture and religion
Ježek and Čížek Theatre works with the people who were/are homeless. Through the theatre and its activities the people can personally involve in cultural process. It was founded in 2000 and since that time more than 300 actors have been involved and 15 productions has been played. Annually it organizes an international festival of homeless theaters called Hic sunt leones.
Buddhist Cultural Society was founded by a group of excited Czech Buddhists in order to enable people interested in buddhism to gather and study Buddhistic Diamond Way and assist in the preservation of traditional Buddhist art, knowledge and practice. Since 2000 they have been organizing here regular meditation sessions, art workshops and seminars of philosophy and meanwhile transforming an old farm into a Buddhist temple.
At the beginning the civic association Auto*mat was just an initiation of few bike riders for healthy transport in Prague. Auto*mat supports creating alternative ways of public transport (pedestrian´s walkways and bicycles paths) and global improvement of the quality of the life in the city.
CONEV means COoperative Network of European Volunteers. This project means to gather ex-EVS in Czech Republic and provide them with meaningful activities after their long term volunteering experience in abroad. Its aim is to promote EVS as a product available for everyone. We cooperated with Conev since January 2009 till October 2009.
Protection of cultural heritage
The organization Propolis is settled in the small town Chříc ( just on the half way between Prague and Pilsen). It sets out to transform the dilapidated brewery into a living place which should become a cultural and social center. There is a lot of work to do, but the organization organises workshops of traditional handcrafts, workcamps or an annual festival in August.
Main activities of civic association Hartenberg are culture and nature heritage recovery. With foundation of international volunteering academy of Hartenberg they want to spread the idea of volunteering all around the world. Moreover they are participating in local urban/natural development.
Ecological centre and nature protection
Zoopark Zájezd o.p.s. was founded in 2006 by few enthusiastic people who farmed animals. Later, they decided to create real small ZOO. They try not to change a lot the surroundings nature and the cages are made from natural materials. The entrance fee is voluntary and during the afternoon there are also a lot of activities for children.
The association Renata runs two eco-centers, eco-consulting centers and builds eco-pathways. Eco-center Renata is situated in Bělá u Jevíčka, 60 km north of Brno and is one of the biggest centers in the Czech Republic. The association has been reconstructing the farm since 2001 and has extended the variety of activities and services they offer to the wide public. They have some farm animals, hold lectures, have ECO exhibition and they build eco-constructions.
Toulcův dvůr is a centre for environmental education in Prague. On 8 hectars you can find few historical buildings, wetland and huge orchard. There are 5 NGOs settled there, organize different ecological education workshops and work on increasing an ecological consciousness. For this purpose they carry on farm with horses, sheep, goats and many other animals.
