Tamjdem project in ZOO! With lemurs and small help
At the weekend 15-17 of April we visited ZOO in Zájezd. Our weekend adventure started already in Prague – first we missed our bus, second the other bus had a small traffic accident. That’s why our arrival was delayed. After a warm welcome we could see the entire ZOO. We saw animals of different species – camel, chameleons, lemurs, mandrills etc. Some of us slept in tents in the future paddock of llams, others in a small house.
On Saturday morning, after breakfast outside among the animals, we had the cart-load of work. Our task was to rake up the old grass, paint fences, peel a bark from the boards, bring sand into the camel enclosure, and work with soil and make a fireplace. Our reward was to feed lemurs and camels. On Saturday night we went to Lidice. We looked at a monument there and we played games. After returning, we made a fire and roasted the sausages. For many of us it was the first bonfire of this year. Then, as on a Friday evening, we visited a pub where we sat late into the night. On Sunday we finished a work that had left from the previous day.
There is no doubt that we did a big piece of work. Each hand made a lot of work and the result was definitely visible. Besides a good work which we did, we also enjoyed a lot of fun with volunteers playing games, feeding animals, enjoying free evenings. Although the nights in the tents were cold, the weather was great at all. Tamjdem weekend in the ZOO Park in Zájezd was amazing. Certainly it wasn’t our last visit there.
