ALKA – an NGO where the horses heal…

In the middle of June 2011 the weekend volunteering project Tamjdem took place in Kozičín and 12 volunteers participated on it. Tamjdem expedition went to NGO called ALKA which works with mentally and fysically handicaped people and cooperates with a horse riding club on hiporehabilitation lessons for those clients.

Despite of the bad weather (it was raining and raining aaaaand raining) we managed together to construct new fences for hiporehabilitation lessons. We constructed three new benches with creativity and enthusiasm. The stable team helped on restoring new and bad hay and after few hours the work was done and volunteers were covered by a layer of a black dust. It was truly nice Tamjdem – we got to know a lot of information about hiporehabilitation, we saw one in reality, played games and simply enjoyed a bit different weekend!
