What will be your tasks?
The Art Group Leaders run (probably in couples) two times three days workshops in the first week. You will help the participants by using your experience and knowledge in your art field to realize their creative ideas. The participants are young and creative people but most of them don't have professional art experience.
The workshops are based on the following principles:
- shows that everybody can do art
- ·provide basic skills to participants in the art fields
- develop skills like team work
- develop self-confidence (‘I can do something’, dare to express, to do, …)
- raise intercultural awareness
- challenge the participants and you
This year the main topic for all the workshops is Neighbours in Touch.
Which is a frame that connects the different art fields in the project. You can interpret, use, apply it creatively as you wish.
The concrete outcome of the workshops will be small performances, which will be presented.
In the second week there will be projects, where everybody (participants as well) can initiate any ideas and realize it, possibly connected to the main topic Neighbors in Touch. Who initiates the idea will be the project leader and involve other interested people. At the end of the camp there will be an open Final event, where the outcomes can be presented.
If you are ... - between 18 and 30 years old
- having experience with the art field (studied/participated on professional courses and currently practicing it)

- IYNF Volunteers meeting PlaNet 7-10 May 2009, Austria. At this meeting volunteers involved in the programming of our umbrella organisation (IYNF) come together, plan activities and receive training in certain topics. It´s a great opportunity for the Freak leaders to meet here, get to know each other, talk about their role and clarify their responsibilities. In case of your interest in joining this meeting, please let Marie, the Freak leader coordinator know as soon as possible.
- One of the Freak leaders´ tasks is to choose the participants from the partner organisations of the project. They are asked to form a balanced group which supports the variety of backgrounds in the camp. During the preparation of the group the Freak leader will introduce them the aims and objectives of the youth exchange. Further they will get to know the different programme parts and possibilities. The aim is to get to know each other before going to the project and prepare the group as good as possible for the experience coming on the educational, emotional, cultural and artistic level.
- The Freak leaders are responsible for facilitating the Chill and Chat groups. During their regular meetings, facilitated by the Freak leader coordinator, they will discuss possible troubles appearing in their groups.. Also in this group the exchange of specific views and experience is very important and stimulated.
