Here you find the official Call for participants for the multilateral youth exchange Meet the freak#5 2009.

The application is closed!

11-26 August in Szálka, Hungary

 Meet the freak#5
means a space for a creative discovery of yourself and meeting others through experiencing together various methods in different fields of art exploring the theme of Neighbours in Touch.
The exchange was also organised in 2005 and 2006 in Czech Republi,  in 2007 in Germany and in 2008 in Portugal. Meet the freak spreads the amateur art experience towards ourselves and the local community.
Our main objectives are to raise the intercultural awareness -, encourage the self organising skills- and support active participation of young people.

60 young people will meet for two weeks in Hungary. The exchange is a combination of more structured art workshops (Art groups) in different fields (dancing, visual arts, juggling, media, theatre, music and djing) where people can gain new skills (1st week) and Freak projects where everybody can initiate art projects with the topic of  Neighbours in Touch (2nd week). Next to this there is space for small workshops offered by anyone present (Hokus focus), reflection groups (Chill & Chat), presentations to each other and the local community (Final event) and much much more …

Are you

  • between 18 and 25 years old,
  • motivated to share experiences,
  • ready to get inspired by others?
  • Are you interested in spreading your freakyness and also share it with the Hungarian local community?
  • Are able to communicate in English?
  • Are you Austrian, Belgian, Czech, German, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian or Slovak?
Then you are the right person to live the flow of Meet the freak!

The fee covers accomodation, three meals a day and a wonderful programme (including material and infrastructure) for 16 days.

Therefore, we employ the principle ‘pay what you can, and a little bit more’. If you are attracted by the proposed content of the activity but the participation fee or travel costs would be the obstacle for you to come, please feel welcome to contact the coordinator at marie[at]iynf.org. IYNF has a solidarity budget for this activity, which can be distributed between the participants that apply for it.

Travel reimbursement

70% of the travel costs (up to a certain amount) will be reimbursed, on the condition that the cheapest and most ecologically travel means are used.
