Tamjdem in Benediktus

26.1.2012The first Tamjdem of 2012 is going to take place in Benediktus Community Center, during the weekend of February 17-19. The organization is settled in the little village Modletín. It is a community house where handicapped and non-handicapped people live, work and have fun together. Tamjdem volunteers are going to help with reconstructions on a building of old spa.

Duha is a civic association of children and youth for their leisure time, nature and fun. Its local groups work in all regions of the Czech Republic and offer a variety of activities. Apart that, Duha runs some projects which are focused on general public in order to offer them an opportunity to become volunteers (Trochujinak = A bit different program), to give young people a chance to participate on public affairs and enlarge their active skills to citizenships (The participation Duha program) and the Castle Duha program provides the Castle magazine for children from orphanages.
The year 2011 is a European year of volunteering and it is both a celebration and a challenge. Duha and its A bit different volunteering program (Trochujinak) accepted that challenge and apart running its common projects over the year also takes part in additional activities of this special year.
Duha has been running bit different volunteering projects since the year 2000. Since that time we got a lot of encouragement from important Czech and foreign organizations. We thank them for the support and cooperation: Ministry of the Interior (accreditation of the Tamjdem and workcampy projects), Ministry of education, youth and sport (financial support of Duha), Czech National Agency (accreditation and support of the Long term volunteering project), SCI (Service Civil International, international partner for organizing workcamps ), ČRDM (Czech Council of Children and Youth – insurance of volunteers and Duha´s members), Hestia (National Volunteer Centre – insurance of volunteers at trochujinak projects).
